Background:
Vermont’s entrepreneurial companies produce an array of high-quality products but have limited distribution outside of the state. Emotionally driven tourists snap up these products, but can’t get them when they go home.
The Program:
To reach these out-of-state consumers, a Web site was developed that includes a best-in-class e-commerce platform, database-driven promotions, value-added information and utilities, and pictures and content to evoke emotions tied with Vermont.
The site is promoted primarily through co-marketing communications, PR, word-of-mouth, email, and a companion catalog.
